First Beneficiary of our Public Health Program

In January, when we visited the pueblo joven Virgen de Chapi, we conducted a survey to determine whether any residents had health problems requiring urgent attention. We identified four residents with various ailments and offered to help them obtain medical treatment. In April a fifty-eight-year-old woman became the first beneficiary of this project.

Program for a Better Peru paid for Sra. M to have her gallbladder removed at a hospital in Arequipa. She is now recuperating nicely from the surgery. Sra. M also suffers from kidney stones, which can be treated with medication. We are paying for her course of medications and hope that she makes a speedy recovery.

We plan to help more people like Sra. M in the coming months. If you would like to support our public health program, please make a donation and specify "Public Health Fund" as the gift designation.
