Clothing and Food Distribution
Program for a Better Peru reaffirmed its commitment to the village of 28 de Julio recently by donating food and clothing to needy families there. Our gift will provide an economic stimulus to these families and supplement their ability to furnish basic necessities for their children.
We met with the president of the 28 de Julio community a few days before the event. He helped us identify the ten poorest families in the village, and we then targeted our giving to those families.
Program for a Better Peru's donations included clothing for twenty adults and twenty of their children. We donated pants, shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, sweaters, and blouses. In addition, we donated nonperishable food to each family. These food donations consisted of rice, sugar, noodles, cooking oil, tuna, and oatmeal.
